Introduction

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply to your use of the Paperwork mobile application (“Paperwork”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Who May Use the App

Paperwork is intended for individuals aged 16 and older. By using the app, you confirm that you are at least 16 years old and legally allowed to enter into this agreement.

What the App Does

Paperwork helps users understand, organize, and respond to German bureaucratic documents. It provides plain-language summaries, task suggestions, reminder tools, and folder guidance. Most features run locally on your device. Certain optional features use external processing to provide AI-generated summaries.

User Responsibilities

You agree to use Paperwork only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not misuse the app, attempt to reverse-engineer it, or use it to upload or process unlawful content. You are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of any documents or data you upload.

Subscriptions and Payments

Paperwork offers premium features through monthly and yearly subscription plans. These subscriptions are managed via Apple or Google’s in-app purchase systems. Pricing is displayed within the app and may vary by region. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the end of the billing period.

Free Trial

If offered, free trials will convert to paid subscriptions automatically unless cancelled during the trial period.

Refund Policy

All payments and refunds are handled by Apple or Google, depending on your platform. We do not issue direct refunds. Please refer to your app store’s refund policy for more details.

AI Processing

If you choose to enable the AI summary feature, the text of your document may be sent to a hosted model running on AWS infrastructure. This data is processed temporarily and is not stored or linked to your identity. You can disable this feature in the app’s settings.

Privacy

Our use of your data is governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it carefully to understand how your data is handled.

Intellectual Property

All content and technology in Paperwork, including the app design, features, and brand, are the property of Makram Saleh. You may not reproduce, modify, or distribute any part of the app without written permission.

No Legal Advice

Paperwork is designed to help you interpret and manage documents more clearly, but it does not provide legal advice. You are responsible for your own actions based on the information provided by the app.

Limitation of Liability

We are not responsible for any loss, damage, or consequences resulting from your use of the app. This includes (but is not limited to) misinterpretation of documents, missed deadlines, or failure to act on a time-sensitive notice.

Account Deletion and Termination

You may delete your account and all associated data by uninstalling the app or using the account deletion feature, if available. We reserve the right to terminate access to the app if you violate these Terms or misuse the service.

Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we do, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the revised Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany. Any disputes arising out of or related to your use of Paperwork will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in Germany.
